Drake Documentary on MTV

youheardthatnew.com

So while I was at Omni this morning, getting the workout on, I watched the new documentary on Drake that aired on MTV. Believe me when I tell you that I got a new level of respect for this man. I’m a fan of Drake (no, I don’t have the album-all of the extra money is going to promoting this book!) so I was already feeling him, but NOW…i am really feeling him. If you haven’t saw it, you can peep the video on youheardthatnew.com. I don’t know yet how to import MTV videos in wordpress so that’s the reason it’s not here. If I find it on YouTube or vimeo, best believe I’m posting it!

Here’s a sneak peek I found:

Drake speaks on Lil’ Kim’s shot at Nicki Minaj

Lil' Kim

Yeah, so by now, you’ve probably heard about Lil’ Kim taking a shot at Nicki Minaj. In my own personal opinion, I don’t think that neither one of them need to be taking shots at each other. There is enough room at the top for the both of them. On a side note, though, I feel as if Kim might feel threatened since she went in on Nicki. I’ve never known Nicki to say anything disrespectful about Kim at all. Maybe this is just a publicity stunt for Kim. I hope not. She’s too talented to start a rap beef with another female rapper who ACTUALLY looks up to her.

So what did Drake have to say. This is what he told MTV News (I’m quoting this from the video)….

I feel like Lil’ Kim is a G in the game, you know what I’m saying. You’re a part of an era that’s classic, that we’ll never forget, as young kids, you know, me and Nick. So its like, you don’t have to do that. You don’t have to get on stage and announce your presence or tell people to pay homage. That’s a given. I’ve watched Nicki pay homage to her time and time again. I just didn’t respect it all. Who else was on stage with her, I don’t respect it at all. You’re just wearing your heart on your sleeve.
